Whether you start exercising for the first time or want to pick up again after a long time. We all need the motivation to keep going. With some this is easier than with others and that is why we have made a list with all the tips that have helped us to keep our motivation high!
Schedule your workouts
One of our biggest pitfalls has always been planning. When you still have a lot to do at the end of the day, training was often the first thing that was put aside to free up time. By scheduling your workouts on fixed days and times, you ensure that you make the rest of your planning around it. This will allow you to train much more consistently and not cancel every time. We all know that afterwards we are disappointed when we have not been again.
Find a sports buddy
This really works very well! You are less likely to cancel, because the other person is then alone. Do not you feel like? Your buddy will pull you through. This way you motivate each other and bring out the best in each other. And besides all this it is of course also much more fun 😉
Set a goal
When you work towards a goal, you will exercise in a much more focused way. Having a goal is also motivating. But don’t set the bar too high, that can make it look like a hopeless road, which of course only has the opposite effect. Break your goal down into small goals. Do you want to lose 10 kilos? Reward yourself with every kilo. Do you want to run a marathon? Celebrate when you get 5, 10 and 15 kilometers in one go! This way it stays fun, and you get closer and closer to your final goal.
Make a fun playlist
Everything is more fun with good music! Make a list of nice uptempo music that gives you energy. This will make you forget about time and get through your workout in no time. Put on your headphones or put in earphones and go!
