These bars are ideal as a pre-workout snack or as a healthy snack alternative in the office. They will take you approximately 15 minutes to make and an additional 30 minutes in the fridge.
Ingredients for 1 serving:
- 2 scoops of FITSHE Pure Organic Whey Protein
- 100 g gluten free flour (for example oat flakes or buckwheat)
- 75 g coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons syrup (for example date syrup)
- 300 g applesauce
- 2 tablespoons of (plant based) milk
- 2 tablespoons of apple syrup
Let’s make it!
First, put both flours in a bowl and mix them with the FITSHE Pure Organic Whey Protein, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Heat up the coconut oil, syrup and apple syrup in a small pan until completely melted. Then add this to the substance in the bowl and stir the mixture well. Add the applesauce to the bowl and stir until you have a slightly crumbly dough. Add the milk and knead until the substance starts to thicken and becomes more solid.
Spread out the dough evenly in a baking dish, press firmly, and cover with plastic. Put the dish in the fridge and let it gel for about 30 minutes. Then divide the cooled down substance into 9 pieces with a knife and take them out of the baking dish. Dip them in ground coconut, and you’re ready to serve. Grandma couldn’t have done it any better!
