5 tips to start exercising again
It’s quite recognizable.. Winter time has already started, it’s cold and dark. Then you hadn’t been doing so well for a long time, but now you don’t have the energy for it at all. Do you want to get out of bed early to do a gym class at 8 a.m.? No thanks. To give you a hand, we have 5 tips for you to pick up the thread again.
1. Find someone you can exercise with.
Of course, many people really enjoy working out on your own. But if you’ve been having trouble finding motivation to exercise for a long time, we still recommend looking for a buddy. When you exercise together with someone, you feel more obligation, because canceling someone every time is not very nice either.
2. Put it in your calendar.
Make a clear note in your agenda of the day and time you will be exercising. When you do that you go faster anyway, because it’s written black on white. The moment you don’t do it and you only have the idea in your head that you ‘probably’ will work out, it’s generally known that it just won’t work.
3. Fixed days.
It helps a lot when you have a good planning. It’s useful if you have fixed days and hours to exercise. This way you know every week that you can’t plan anything for those hours and that you simply have to plan all your new appointments around it.
4. Treat yourself every now and then.
It’s quite an achievement that you’ve pushed yourself to exercise again, so you deserve a reward! Think of a reward for yourself in advance. This will motivate you and so you can work towards something.
5. Have fun!
Try to enjoy it. You only get benefits from it and to go there cranky every time is no fun either. Put on some good music, buy nice sportswear that you feel good in and have fun!
